Check the maximum payload on your door jamb. Mine says 920 pounds. Add up the weight of all the passengers, the luggage, and the roof box. You might be surprised. The 9-5 seems like a big car but it's not all that heavy and really doesn't carry all that much weight. Four beefy people alone can easily reach the load limit.
There's also a separate load limit for the trunk, and for the roof. Check your manual. They don't like a lot of load in the rear. Put your heaviest luggage toward the front of the trunk and it will help.
