Not all that bad, but since the passengers side is almost new, it would make sense to swap if it were an easy task. Too many other more critical things will eventually require repair/replacement, I'm not quite yet at the point where I'll start taking the car to a mechanic, but with each passing year my enthusiasm about doing all my repairs fades. this is for a 1999 9-5 with 115 k miles, my other 9-5 is a 2004 ARC and the pain there is the numerous trips to the dealer and associated inconvenience involved with having warranty work done. The plus side of this as was the case with my 1999 - better for the failures to occur before the warranty expires.
In the interest of inflaming some on the board who read these posts, the most logical way for me to solve my repair dilemma is to buy Japanese. In no way have my 9-5s been even close to the long term reliability I enjoyed with my 1986 9000. That was a car to remember, but autos were quite a bit less complex then.
