Trionic does a pretty good job of compensating the power loss from the A/C compressor running. I know on my mom's old 2000 Town and Country minivan if you had the A/C going there was a HUGE power difference. It got so anemic it wasn't even funny. WIS says that the engine computer in the 9-5 actually compensates the power loss somehow by increasing boost or altering timing through the DIC's, not exactly sure but I know having the A/C on in my 9-5 doesn't make a noticeable difference. What does make a noticeable difference is when it's real hot out and the air isn't as dense as when it's cold out. That's when you're going to notice power loss on a turbo'ed car.
Also, in the winter the expansion valve is not open all the way so there's not as much freon flowing through the system so there's less strain on the compressor which also lowers the load on your engine. Rather than cycling the compressor on and off like in most cars, Saabs use a valve to control the amount of freon circulating.
