Sorry you're not getting much help. I don't know much about what you're describing but I'll see if I can help. I too have heard that the trunk wiring harness breaking can lead to strange cruise control quirks, but I have absolutely no idea why. If I were you, the first thing I would do is pull the boot down from where the wires go into the trunk lid. It's not necessarily a length issue, it's just that the way the trunk folds down, the wires bend at a sharp angle and break. I had a wire break in mine too on my 2001 sedan. Open the trunk lid, and then lower it so it's almost closed and watch the rubber bundle of wires as you close it. You'll see immediately where they fold. Slide the boot down and look for broken wires there. I had one and I put a piece of speaker wire I had laying around in with some electrical tape and everything is still working fine. And hey, if broken wires in your trunk can lead to cruise control issues, of all things, I would imagine maybe headlight issues could be a result too. Post back with what you find please.
