I had the problem of the "Service Theft Alarm" message reappearing about a month after I replaced my alarm batteries. I re-opened the case, cleaned up my less than stellar soldering job, then added a foam block inside the alarm cover to help maintain mechanical connection of the batteries to the circuit board. No problems or messages in the 15 months since.
How old is the car battery? A weak car battery has been identified by some posters as being the cause of random soundings of the car alarm.
