We were in the same position 3 months ago, our 1995 900S with 330,000Km is still running, but not big enough for our family. We settled for a 5 speed 2003 Linear Wagon with the touring package, (Xenons, rain sensing wipers, reverse assist). I've had to do a bit of work to get it to acceptable condition.

PCV #6 upgrade, (2004 and up already have it)
Fuel filter
Found some evidence of "sludge", so back to back Amsoil 5W40 changes with engine flush
Replaced Xenons as they were both failing, flickering and shutting off at inappropriate times
Coolant Temperature sensor and Thermostat replaced, both failed
Updated Air intake pipe (2004 Aero and up have it)
Air Cabin filter replaced
Had to replace leaky Headlamp washer
Spark plugs replaced

All of the above were relatively inexpensive and mostly done to give us peace of mind.

From what I understand, the 2004 year was the sweet spot, but they did get
