Helpful hint on Coolant by-pass

I have had a slow coolant leak on 2000 9-5 wagon.
Turned out to be the "coolant by-pass valve".
Indy gave me a clue, that I had not thought of - although it does not take an Einstein to work it out - which allowed me to drive many miles without risking coolant leaking everywhere.
You see I did not know that the "coolant bypass valve" is actually a "heater bypass valve".
So, at least here in SoCal anyway, you just keep the heater/aircon off and you thus get to drive considerably more miles while your ordered part (the valve) arrives.
Until then it was a worry that the thing would just blow and leave me with either a 'cooked' engine or stranded or both.

Also as for the whole "Service Theft Alarm" message issue, I had the alarm turned off via Tech II.
Phew! What a relief!!!
No more alarm surprises where, while sitting in a restaurant or waiting in a bank, your car screams again.
It was really cheap and easy and I should have done it long ago.
Dealer actually said it CANNOT be done and that I needed to buy the new alarm unit. Mucho $$$$.
He-he!
