Sounds just like when the turbo failed on my 2001 9-5. Merging onto the highway and quickly trying to get up to speed and into a lane left behind about 100 feet of very thick, white-blue smoke. How many miles are on your car? I'd take it to a shop and have them check the turbo and the PCV, if that hasn't been updated yet. I think if you remove the intake boot before the throttle body and find lots of oil in there it means turbo. I heard that PCV problems don't put oil there, but I don't know why they wouldn't.
