Oil consumption - 2002 Aero

I just completed a 1,570 mile trip from California through Arizona in my 2002 Aero w/62K miles. High speed desert driving usually between 75-85 mph, but cool weather. When I returned I found that it had consumed exactly one quart of oil. Ouch! I know from this board and from owning several Saabs that oil consumption is usually low or negligible. Any ideas where I am headed? The car has been owned by me since 28K miles and all previous services were verified and performed by the dealer. Very little stop-and-go driving. From the start it used more oil than I was used to, since I often had to add one quart between changes (5,000 mile changes, Mobil 1 0-40wt exclusively), but never at this rate. There are no leaks, and no smoke. PVC modification #5 and #6 were both performed (it concerns me a little that I did not experience this problem until after #6 was performed, but it may be my imagination). I'm particularly interested in hearing from those that may have had similar experience.
