Recently had oil cooler let go and wound up with oil in the coolant. Oil cooler has been replaced and the coolant system has been flushed.
Now, heres where it gets good.
After this was fixed, the low oil pressure issue started to rear its ugly head. You know, the car is driven around for a bit gets all warmed up. You come to a stop sign and let the rpms die a little and the oil pressure warning light comes on and then disappears as you give it the gas and pull away. And this reoccurs pretty much everytime you drive the car. Now, i have read all the posts about possible sludge but I am confident that with the v6 this is not sludge. I am prepaired to replace the sending unit but after much thought i am wondering if this promblem which at first glance looks like a random problem. But the answer to the following question may prove otherwise... When the oil cooler blew oil into coolant, did or should i say can coolant get blown into the oil? Which by my assuption could mean that the problem i am having with the oil pressure could be fixed with a good oil flush and a new sending unit.... id love to hear some thoughts about this. I do not want to have to replace the oil pump. In the last 7 months the car has had new timing belt, water pump, pulleys and belts, tensioner, oil cooler and turbo unit....
thanks
