I checked in the Saab EPC.

If you 9-5 was a 1999-2001 you could replace only the pitted lens. I did that on my 2000; it's fairly easy.

You specified a 2002 9-5; but you did not specify halogen versus xenon. In either case: The lens cannot be replaced by itself. You have two options.

1. Replace the entire unit.

2. Replace only the housing that includes the lens. This could be cheaper.

Definitely, shop for these parts. Try your dealer first; then, call eEuroparts to see what they can do. Try other sources as well. Be prepared, these parts are not cheap.

eEuroparts does list the complete assembly for both the halogen and xenon variants. Prices are $366 (halogen) and $530 (xenon)...EACH; cal them to see what they can do to get the housing. You could use eEuroparts as a basis for determining reasonableness at the dealer etc.

By all means check out the junk yards like Goldwing. 9-5's are generally totaled because the front end is wrecked....so don't expect a lot of luck.

DIY is not difficult; I've had mine out when I replaced the lenses, and subsequently when I replaced the assembly (it was a draw between the deer and my car...he died, I did a little damage).
