Low pressure generally refers to the fluid pressure in the hydraulic circuits. It could be a failue of the internal pump, or some individual valves that are leaking.
Either way, a competant transmission mechanic can diagnose and repair those types of issues. Dealser too often resort to the replacement option -I think because they don't always have the transmission specialists on the payroll.
