They like - REALLY like - to be received at the same frequency as they are transmitted on...
If the EU remotes are of a different frequency than the US remotes, then the receivers are also different. Most likely because the frequency allocations are different between the US and EU. EPC shows this to be true.
Without the hardware, Tech 2 can't help you.
Also, higher frequency does not translate into longer range, even if one has compatible equipment at both ends. In fact, in most cases, the opposite is true.
