Another options, is to have your headlight reprogrammed to the European settings. What this accomplishes is having city lights (the small bulb in the headlight housing) working in the middle setting instead of the headlights. If you leave the DRL fuse in (no. 35 in the fuse box next to the drives door), you also get the city lights for the DRLs. I have done this on my 2000 Aero and haven't replaced headlight bulbs since.
You need somebody with a Tech II to make this change. Headlights on U.S. cars are set for Option 3. For the Euro setting have them changed to Option 1. While you are at it, you might want to change the fog lights to Option 1, this will allow them to work with the bright lights and in the middle light switch setting with the city lights.
