I'm biased, because I've been using using (and selling) AMSOIL synthetics in my own Saabs for over 30 years now.
In short, you get better low temperature flow (and reduced starting wear), better high temperature protection, longer drain intervals, (usually) better fuel economy because of reduced friction.

I would not, and do not, use non-synthetic in any engine I own, including the lawn mower.

With the higher cost per quart for the synthetic, I've found AMSOIL to be the most economical oil to used, based on cost per mile.

If I couldn't, or wouldn't, get AMSOIL, I'd be using the Mobil 1 extended drain oil.

Far as leakage, I've changed over probably a close to a dozen Saabs/Volvos
in that time, most with about 100,000 miles on them. Have never had a leakage problem. Doesn't mean it can't happen, but most of the problems were from use of early formulation of Mobil 1 (like 25 years ago), or in engines which had been poorly maintained until the synthetic was put in.
