Check Engine/Transmission Lights

Our 2000 9-5 wagon with 119k just had the engine replaced with a used one with 73k. The Saab dealer acquired the engine from their reliable source and did the exchange. We picked the car up and drove 4 miles and the Check Engine and Transmission lights both came on. (We've never had any trouble with the transmission since we bought the car 2.5 years ago.) I stopped to check the manual to see what the light meant. It said the transmission would go into limp mode. It didn't go into limp mode and worked (and continues to work) just fine. The Service Dep't did not feel it was related to the work they did since they did not do anything to the trans but I felt it had to be somehow connected. Got it back into the shop a week later. They scanned it and said it was giving them a torque converter code. They serviced the trans and reflashed it. This time I drove about 30 miles before the lights came back on. They are now trying to decide what to do next to remedy this. I would welcome any thoughts as to what the problem may be. Thanks!
