There's an ebay seller... Posted by Larry West [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: split view left rear mirror, jerry, Thu, 28 Feb 2008 13:52:57 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Who has one for the 1998 to 2002 9-5. I just got mine, after a minor problem where they shipped me a 2003 9-5 mirror (heated, but not auto-dimming), and we had to swap them.
It's not Saab original, but it works just fine.
Oh - the price? $60 shipped (within US) using buy-it-now...
And there is NO comparison with a "fish-eye" stick-on mirror. I've been using these "Wide Angle" (Saab's EPC nomenclature) or "Aspheric" (technical term) mirrors on my C900, 9000, 99 (with 900 doors...) and now my 9-5. When properly aimed, they make merging into traffic a breeze.
For those who don't know, it works just like the right hand mirror that came with your 9-5. The major part of the mirror is convex, but the outside 1/3 (approx) is also squeezed horizontally. It's similar to the way they put widescreen movies on a standard frame (I'm talking film here...) by optically squeezing the image onto the frame. If you've ever seen the credits on an old spaghetti western, you know what I mean. Everyone looks tall and real skinny...
Once you get used to them, you'll feel naked in a car with a flat mirror...
