Amazing belt story

So it was my time for the serp belt on my lpt 9-5 to go. I knew it almost immediately- battery light on, no power steering, etc. I pulled over immediately. Not wanting to take the car back to the shop again (I had just gotten it back yet again two days ago) I bought a new one myself, and moaned at the thought of putting it on. So I'm standing outside the autozone in a very bad neighborhood in Houston when two guys in broken english ask if I need a mechanic... I explain the problem, and they tell me they can do it for $30 in the parking lot...
To make a long story short, they actually did it without removing the tire or the upper mount in less than 40 minutes with only tools from the trunk of their ratty little honda.... All for $30 (I gave them 40) and the mechanic I use took two days to do the pcv6 upgrade...
In other news, the purchase of the belt now brings my cost of repairs and maintenance to just over $30 more than I paid for the whole damn car two months ago, and I am still convinced that though the 9-5 is probably the best driving Saab made, it is also the poorest engineered and most expensive to fix. I havent spend $4000 in repairs on my other two cars in the 5 and 8 years I've owned them, and thats including a clutch job...
