Sorry, should have posted this with the original. 2000 9-5 2.3 with 98K miles. Turbo replaced at 80K. Bought it with 65K on it. Other than that, the only issue I've had with it is that every couple of months, it goes into limp home mode and the check engine and check transmission lights come on. When I turn it off and crank it back up, it drives normally. After a couple of days, the check engine/transmission lights go off and there's no codes stored in the OBD. Last time it did it, I used CarMD and pulled codes P1923 and P1701. I think P1923 is "No Bus data from TCM". Didn't have any info on P1701. Asked about this in a previous post, but got throttle body recommendations and I don't think that's the issue (although I could be wrong).
I didn't think the IDM would cause battery discharge either, but I've smelled a lot of electrical burning type smells before, but nothing like this one. After researching, IDM was the only recurring theme for that.
I'm busy with work this week and haven't had a chance to investigate further yet. The closest Saab dealer is about 45 miles away. Does anyone know a good indie in southern MD? I looked at the list on the site, but none are closer than the dealer.
Thanks in advance. The help you guys give on this site is great! Us "uninformed" folks appreciate it.
