I've seen ebay sellers selling removed TWICE modules with a programmed key. Perhaps that would work, but you would also likely need to have the VIN from the car the TWICE was removed from.
But, the best way to keep the car for a long time without expensive TWICE replacements is more keys & remotes. My car came with one "old" transponder key (the one with the separate remote, but I didn't get a remote), and one 2001- combo remote/transponder key. Soon as I could, I ordered two cut blanks for the remote keys (total cost about $65). I also bought another remote key (cut, but not for my car) from an ebay seller to cannibalize the remote module. My Indy came up with an old "banana" remote, he programmed all to the car, so now I have two "remote" keys, one "transponder" key with banana remote, and a spare cut key for another built-in remote. Soon as I can find another cheap remote key on ebay, I'll get that and have it programmed so I have a set of four.
Once that is done, I'll probably leave one with my sister in MA (off-site backup), packaged & ready to ship should I ever need it. The only problem with that is if I ever need another replacement, I need that one back to program the new one...
It's hard to lose two sets of keys. It's harder to lose three, and probably nearly impossible to lose FOUR sets.
But then, it wouldn't be a bad idea to "fill up" if you get down to only one key...
