Some TPMs monitor 7 sensors (two front, two rear & spare). Most allow you to set the monitor pressure. I'm not certain what the spec is on the system in the new Saabs.

Regardless, you will need to either swap the sensors (they are part of the valve stem assembly) between wheel sets or buy a new set of sensors. Spare sensors for aftermarket systems run about $75-$100 each, who knows what Saab wants for theirs.

With one set of sensors, you don't have to have the system reprogrammed, if you keep the sensors at the same corners. With two sets of sensors, it would probably be a semi-annual Tech 2 session to change the sensors (unless the Saab system can account for at least 8, or you can program it yourself w/o Tech 2).

One thing to be careful of, is the sensors. You can't have "Mongo the tire buster" work on your wheels, unless he's aware of the sensors, and knows what to do. Hella is very specific in how to install and remove tires from wheels equipped with their TPM sensors (which are very similar to Saabs). The machine could rip them apart if it's not done properly. Mostly it just means that they have to be careful where they lever the bead over the rim, and that the bead never has to go over the sensor with force. One guy on a BMW site mentioned that when removing the tires from the wheels, he just unscrews the valve stem/sensor, and pops it inside the wheel for later retrieval, keeping it out of the way of the bead busting bits. Doesn't help much on installation, though I suppose you could fit a string to the sensor...

Log on to the Saab Owner Center, and download a copy of the owners manual for that car. The info may be in there.
