So I hear about Auto-RX and read lots of reviews, mostly positive. So I call Frank (Owner, Developer) at Auto-RX and order 4 bottles of the stuff. Told Frank he should send me a free one so I ended up with 5 bottles. I change the oil on my V6 SAAB using Kendall 10w-30 and a bottle of Auto-RX. The oil got black real quick which I thought was a good sign? Ran for 2500 miles and then changed oil again using Kendall 10w-30. Frank said don't use synthetic for Auto-RX treatment. Next thing I know, my SAAB has a really nasty lifter noise. I call Frank at Auto-RX and he says some of the crud from the engine probably contaminated a lifter. So he said run another treatment of Auto-RX so I did. The lifter noise continued. He said the next rinse cycle would take care of it - it didn't. So I used some CD-2 engine cleaner which supposedly a very high detergent additive and after running that, the lifter no longer clacks. So did Auto-RX clean up my engine but also contaminate a valve lifter? I don't know? My V6 probably didn't need to be treated in the first place but I thought it couldn't hurt. Anyway, I wish I would have taken off a vavle cover before and after Auto-RX.
