Neither Holdens or Opels are sold in the US (at least not under those brand names) but some parts of our 9-5's are equal to the Saturn "L-series" which was sold here and was released in the market around the same time.
I have purchased brake components for my 9-5 produced by european manufacturers, and the boxes are labeled with both Saab and Opel part numbers. I believe the rear pads on my 9-5 (Mintex Red Box) are equivalent to BMW Z3/M3 pads, so parts sharing doesn't stop at corporate boundaries either!
With the 9-5 at the 10 year point in age, I am surprised no one has released a master parts list of interchangable components with other brands which are more common in some markets.
