Sooty plugs, part 2 Posted by Don [Email] (#1099) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Don) on Wed, 26 Mar 2008 04:50:20 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
In checking all the vacuum hoses and various clamps, I looked at the routing of the vac lines, as I had said in my earlier post, it looks like the throttle body had been replaced before I purchased the car a few months ago.
I found that the two vac lines that go to the TB were reversed.
The PCV hose from the valve cover, was on the connection for the control for the turbo bypass valve, and vice versa.
I took it for a ride and it seems to run better, and the shake at idle is reduced.
I cleaned the plugs, and will pull them tonight to see if it solved the soot problem.
Would this cause any damage to the system?
