The most physical labor and/or "wrenching" was disconnecting the exhaust at the turbocharger...
My oil pan gasket was "gone"...ie, after the last bolt was removed from the oil pan, it just "dropped" from the engine....normally you'd expect to take a rubber mallet to get it loose...
Without trying to create a war on oils...I feel that 0W-30 is on the light side, and especially in TX.....and the key is the "does your oil meet/exceed A3/B3 specs"...I do not know of any 5W-30 weight oil that does....if I lived in TX, I think I'd look at either Mobil 1 0W-40 and/or 15W-50 weights...
The oil pickup screen is so fine in nature, that everyday debris gets caught in it....varnish, carbon, and dirt...and after 130,000 miles, the oil pick up screen in my SAAB was 20-25% covered...
