Methyl Ethyl Keytone (MEK) but be careful not to breathe in the fumes. they are highly dangerous to the lungs. I would wipe it clean and if some stain is there it will not affect the seal. Use a good heavy bead of gray silicone gasket seal and clamp it up using care to evenlty tighten the bolts all around in a sort of cross pattern several times to about to 15 Ft Pounds max. Be sure to install new "O" rings at the ports mating with oil passages- do not use sealer.
