My '06 9-5 was doing this last summer. It did not do it the summer before. This does not happen in the winter. It happens during extended idling in heavy traffic where you go 3 blocks in 10-12 minutes. It also happens when you make a number of short hops like happens when you run errands.
The symptom is a huge loss of power on takeoff. Boost is there, but delayed and not as much as normal. 3 or 4 trips to the dealer couldn't reproduce the issue last summer. The car only has 21K miles. There is no CEL. It is definitely temp related. It isn't gasoline, I have tried many brands and grades. If it were a CPS, I expect it would have hard failed by now, same for the DIC.
The customer service line (from the owner's manual) told me to go back to the dealer which I will do. I must say service at Sewell in Dallas has really gone down since they opened two additional stores and robbed the original location to seed the others.
I have looked at the plugs and they are clean. I know something is failing when it gets really hot, but it isn't failing hard and there are no codes. Any ideas? There was one person on the West Coast who had what sounded like the same thing on a long trip from SF to LA. If he is reading this did your problems ever crop up again?
TIA, hr
