Artificial my @ss. And it's not just Aeros. I'm in sales at Charles River Saab in Boston. We're one of the higher volume dealers in New England, and we've seen exactly 3 Aeros so far this year. We're SCREAMING for them. I have 2 customers waiting on them. There's a shortage of all 9^5s right now, and forget about trying to get a manual shift 9^5. Yet there's still incentives on the car?? We have a 5 door, 3 door and convertible Viggens available though.
I've heard that this shortage is due to the popularity of a new desiel in Europe, and the pipeline should be filling up in the next month or two. I've also heard that Saab's goal is for 40% of 9^5 sales to be Aeros in 2002. With the pricing structure for 9^5s this year, I'm inclined to beleive it. An automatic Aero and an Arc (ex-SE, V6, auto only, standard vented seats) price out identically. A manual Aero is $1200 less. $500 less in incentives on an Aero this month though. IMO, there should be $0 incentives on Aeros or Viggens right now.
