Do you know about the 9-5 tranny OEM improvement kit? I think Talleifero had it available? I'll likely not get it, as it's a bit pricey and my DIY adventures have never involved tackling the tranny innards.
As for my 1985 900 Turbo, I finally relinquished my "never get around to it" plans for fixing the reverse gear and caved into my wife's demand to have it towed away.... I really was looking forward to trying the "fix" I found through SaabNet. Someone detailed the procedure which could supposedly be accomplished with the tranny left installed as is on the car and working on re-machining slightly a part accessible through a removeable tranny case inspection plate. Some inherent design weakness leaves the amount of drive to driven reverse gear contact as less than half the width of gear engagement. The "fix" supposedly causes the gears to overlap/engage each other more and not overstress and chew up the gear edges as designed.
Anyway, thanx again for your advice.
