I brought mine in to have the exhaust inspected for free and have them give me an estimate to put some flowmasters in or whatever they sell. The guy on the phone when I called said something like, "oh yeah we've done some 9-5's before, it's just a few simple bends in the pipe...Bring it in and we'll have a look." So I bring it in, they put it on the lift and tell me there is absolutely nothing wrong with it other than the heat shields are a bit rusty. This was after I pulled the entire outer shell off the rear muffler, and removed a completely detached hanger a few days before. Meanwhile the other two hangers have major stress cracks in the welds and the muffler is hanging about 1.5" down and 2" to the left, out of the bumper cutout. So I still wanted to know how much it would cost to have the exhaust replaced from the cat-back. They got all huffy with me and tried calling around for parts. They couldn't find any exhaust parts for the Saab, and said I had to take it to the dealer. I continued to ask about doing a custom exhaust job, with just some generic resonators and piping. "Oh no, we can't change anything about the exhaust system on the car, we don't do custom stuff." After that I just left, very confused, because it clearly says on their website that they do custom installations with performance flowmaster mufflers. Look for a non-chain muffler shop that specializes in custom car/truck exhausts. When my exhaust finally does decide to fall off the bottom of the car I plan to visit one in town. Otherwise I may get the Simons Saab Performance Exhaust from Genuine Saab. Good luck.
