Weather was nice today so I regapped the plugs assessed the exterior damage of this past winter and planned for a wax in the near future. Anyhow, I noticed that the relatively expensive clear rock shields that I applied when I purchased the landrocket two years ago look terrible. The surface itself is fine, sort of, but underneath the thick clear shields are these hazy, foggy clusters of bubbles...it looks like mold, cloudy white/dirty clusters of mold. It looks unattractive, the shields have since taken on a brownish tint and I believe it may be affecting my light pattern, throw and intensity. Just about the only thing that didn't fail was the glue...these things are ON and not going anywhere... I never thought these would degrade this quickly.
I need to take them off but I'm not sure how to go about it. I believe I heated them up with a hairdryer to they became a bit soft and then did the tumb press on, press out air bubble routine.
Any ideas, experiences before I start lining up the hair dryers and extension cords outside?
If I am able to remove them the plan is to get the rest of the residue off with goo gone....else the gunked up light housings ll be covered with dirt and rocks....
Thanks for all input!
