I had the same problem on my son's car several years ago. While you can certainly fix the problem with a suitable epoxy based product, I elected to replace the tank. Didn't seem wise to me to fool with what is essentially a potential bomb in the back of your vehicle. The slightest leaking of fumes could be dangerous and potentially fatal. Also, what would happen to a repair in the event of an accident? I tend to be over cautious with these type things, especially if the wife and kids will be using it. My repair at a good Indy was about $500.00, or in today's terms the cost of 2 weeks worth of gas!
