CR17335SE are the wrong batteries. The original batteries were CR17335, the -SE version has different internal construction and has short life expectancy in our sirens.
The two best solutions are:
1) Have someone with a Tech-II program the SID to not display the STA message. This option apparently is not available on all cars, the Tech couldn't find it on mine. Your car will act as if it hs a fully functional siren, no STA message and the siren still chirps.
2) Have someone with a Tech-II program the TWICE to believe the car has no siren installed. Your car will now act like a 2004 and newer car with horn beeps accompanying each lock/unlock, but no more STA message. This is how my car is set now.
I tried the internal battery replacement, got 16 months. I tried the external battery pack, got 2 weeks. I had the siren setting changed, cost me $25, no more problems!
