Source for part........ Posted by Herb Hirsch [Email] (#114) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Herb Hirsch) on Thu, 29 May 2008 06:11:14 In Reply to: fried low beam plug, rich02818, Thu, 29 May 2008 05:32:36 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The part you require is an H7 bulb socket with leads. This is readily available form sources suchas AutoZone for a few dollars.
Or you could try googling H7 bulb socket. An example is.... http://www.racinglab.com/kyo-pnp-wh-h7.html
Alternatively, you could go to an automotive junk yard and remove the socket and leads from a late model Saab or other auto using an H7 bulb.
Then use a blue butt connector to splice in the new socket. DO NOT SOLDER.
The cause of the failure is likely due to use of a higher than 55W H7 bulb or resistance in the socket resulting in excessive heat buildup.
