Thinking of purchasing '05 Aero- have questions

Hi all,
With the rising cost of fuel, I've started driving my wife's '05 Saab 9-2x Linear instead of my V8-powered Grand Cherokee. I don't really care for the 9-2x and have thought about trading it in...
Stopped by a local Saab dealer and they have a beautiful '05 9-5 Aero with 43k on the clock. It is black with an auto transmission and turbocharged 4cylinder.
My questions are:
Is there any potential drawbacks from running Regular or Mid-grade fuel instead of the recommended Premium? I understand that performance will be decreased, but will there be any bad effects? I assume the computer should be able to readjust for the lower octane rating.
I see mentions of a 60k service. What exactly is recommended in this service? In the past, I had a 3.0L V6 Yamaha-powered Ford Taurus SHO and this also required a 60k service (spark plugs, wires, timing belt, water pump, and valve lash adjustment).
Thank you all,
JeeperJay
