The fuel filter should be replaced every 30K miles IMHO. Saab recommends changing it every 60K miles.
When you consider the problems you could have getting stuck in the middle of nowhere, changing this filter every 30K miles is very cheap insurance. Check eEuroparts, the filter (Bosch) and washers as a kit runs $10.90. It's located just in front of the right rear wheel.
