Scott,
22K miles seems like a short period for a turbocharger and you might question why you are experiencing problems. Upon removal of the original turbocharger, you might suggest a disassembly of the entire unit for inspection. Any debris within the turbocharger bearing housing might indicate a filtering problem.
The V6 uses the GT15 turbocharger which is internally identical to the GT17 and could be overhauled by replacing bearings, oil seals, etc. A rebuild kit would be about $150 and would eliminate turbine shaft movement, oil consumption, etc. Overhauling the original assembly could save $ since the replacement will require you to purchase the entire turbocharger with integrated exhaust manifold.
Best Regards,
GSK at SWEDISH DYNAMICS,INC.
