Must be an epidemic...My symptoms.... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: ABS Module... Update..., hwood, Sun, 8 Jun 2008 12:00:45 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Driving along at 65-70mph on the expressway when I hear a chime tone. Look down and the "TCS Off" message is illuminated, as well as the ABS light, Triangle with Exclamation Point, and brake symbol.
A moment later, all lamps go off. 3 or 4 minutes after that, another chime, the same cluster of lamps are lit, followed a minute later by no speedometer reading. All lamps remain lit until I shut off the car, maybe two minutes later.
Leave the stroe, restart the car, and all systems are go. Enter the expressway for the drive home and the two steps above occur again. But 3 or 4 mintes after the loss of speedo and "full on" of brake warning lamps, the speedo resumes operation and lamps turn off!
Is this the first signs of a failing/failed ABS module?
Does this indicate a failing/failed wheel sensor?
Can anyone confirm BMillar's statement below that the car is safely driveable with the module removed?
Thanks,
p.s. temps here in Michigan are nearly 100F today. Could the hot temps be aggravating a "near end of life" condition?
