Rear suspension feels softer

The rear suspension of my 2005 9-5 has started to feel a little soft. It seems to be more of a lateral softness rather than vertical but I can't quite put my finger exactly on the problem. I was wondering if any of you out there might have some thoughts. Here's a couple of things I've noticed in addition to the driving feel.
1. When I bounce the car with my hands on the right side rear it bounces back up but then immediately lurches forward and back again. There is often a creaking sound (but not always as is the case when the handbrake is off ). I also heard some liquid type of sound today.
2. When bouncing the car on the left rear side lurching does not happen or if it does it is very mimimal and noises seem to come again from the right side.
3. Bouncing the front seems to be no issue.
Thanks for any tips -
Brian
