Removing the pulley is a snap because you're going to do that on your workbench. Start by removing the tensioner assembly. A single cap screw right in the middle holds the tensioner. Prob is getting the 8mm hex (Allen)wrench in play due to clearance. Here's what works: After breaking it loose with a long L Allen (had to use extender pipe for leverage), i cut a 1" length of the 8mm hex and inserted it into an 8mm ratcheting box wrench. If you have da kine what let's you flip a lever to change direction, then you got the best. Second prob is: the bolt is very long with a lot of thread and the end of the 8mm wrench 1" section jammed against the fender well and now i wuz stuck. Don't let this happen to you...instead of 1", cut the wrench segment to 3/4" and I think the bolt will clear before the 8mm contacts the frame. If not, flip the lever, run it back in a bit, remove the 8mm/box end,and use pliers or fingers to take the bolt out the last few threads.
What did I do with the situation jammed and a non-reversable box end? Recip saw with a bimetal to cut the bolt. Wasn't pretty but I got it out. Rag over the alternator to keep filings out. Avoid this.
Last tip, use a cable tye on either side of the 8mm 3/4" section to hold it in the box end...or maybe not, because without the cable ties thickness, the 8mm section could be 5/8", ensuring complete extraction of the bolt. How to cut the wrench: Wafer thin cutter on a roto-tool (DremeL) with Allen in a vise.
