DIC(ignition module)issues were fixed late '03 and into '04. Upgrades for older are available
'04s got a little more horsepower and larger front brake disks.
Minor body redesign in '04 some liked some didn't.
Decontenting also got really rolling in '04 - rear seat heaters, weather radio umbrella holders, trunk key entry, maybe a couple others.
Have the '04 Arc and never never a problem of any kind at 60K mi, except minor interior pieces and original battery, oh yeah, gas guage stuck once.
