2001 9.5 V6 CS Drive Belt . . .Forget Warranty or Wait

I've been reading several posts about the after effects of timing belt breakage on people's 9.5 V6s. Certainly is painful to hear.
I have a 2001 9.5 V6 and these stories have been somewhat sobering. I only have 50K for mileage but, despite the age, the dealership won't honor the belt replacement warranty until 60K. Dealer swears I have nothing to worry about, that wear is only based on mileage. I think this is total BS (if I am wrong, would like to hear it . . . ). I am thinking maybe I should just eat the money and let my indy go ahead and replace the camshaft drive belt himself.
I would do the tensioners at the same time and am thinking the dealership would probably not cut me any break on the labor for this anyway (even though they'd already be "there"). Might not be much of a difference in price in the end, don't know . . .
Is going ahead on my own a good idea or should I wait?
If I do go ahead, should I change anything else at the same time like the water pump, serpentine belt, etc?
Thank you.
