trailer wiring - no brake lights? Posted by Mike Keller [Email] (#1926) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mike Keller) on Sun, 27 Jul 2008 18:50:02 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi all,
Ordered the Saab trailer wiring harness to connect my 2000 9-5 wagon to a simple boat trailer (lights only - no brake assist). Everything works but the brake lights. The trailer taillights remain on when we press the brake pedal, but the lights don't get any brighter.
Do I need a power converter? Could it be a grounding issue? I sure hope some of the regulars on this board can share their trailer experience!
I should add that I'm pretty confident the car wiring is to blame, as I hooked the car up to some other boat trailers in the yard as a test and had the same symptom - no brake lights.
TIA,
Mike Keller
