Road trip and tires

OK, I posted a while back regarding a road-trip that may be coming up and renting a car because I don't trust my SAAB. Well, we have firmed up a date for 2 weeks in August to drive from Beaverton, Oregon to Grafton, North Dakota (In-Laws). So we made a decision to either trust the automobile or dump it and buy something else. After looking at new and used cars, we have decided to keep the SAAB 9-5 V6 and use it for our trip of approximately 3500 miles total. It makes no sense to own a car you don't trust so we're gonna just go for it. Should I bring tools? I've got 2 brand new DIC's with a torx handle in the trunk. I should sell them because I've got the new DIC's via the recall. Anything else? Been running Castrol Syntec 5w-40 oil. OK, tires are shot! Need to get new. Trying to decide between Michelin Exalto A/S, Michelin Primacy MXV4, Yoko Advan S4's or Yoko S.Drive? Have Kumho's now Ecsta 711's. Tread is nearly to the Nader bars and with worn out tires, my gas mileage has really improved. 29.4 MPG on our last highway trip with the V6. Never came close to that before.
Always open to more input on tire choice. I hope the auto treats us right! CPO warranty out in 6 days! Currently have just little stuff to get fixed. Wish us luck!
