I currently run regular oil in my 1999 auto 9.5 wagon and I change it every 3,000 miles religiously. I'm getting ready to have my 90K service done and my buddy says switch to Synthetic for sure and stay with it for the rest of the cars' life. I think I've read here that changing oil types can lead to new leaks due to lower viscosity or something like that but I can't find the info. Any opinions welcome on this topic. Where I live Midas offers $58 for 4 oil changes so I have been using that for 4 years. That's $14.50 per change and unbeatable even at home with wholesale priced oil. I guess going Synthetic will mean less changes in the future and better for the engine, right? But I don't want any leaks...
