First "long" trip in 2002 Aero

Just got back from my first “long” trip with my 2002 Aero. Boston to New York City and Jersey City area. On the way down on Friday had very light traffic and great sunny weather. Had some guy in a Porsche Boxter as my lead man for most of the way and averaged about 80-85 MPH. Gas mileage was about 27 MPG. Ride was very comfortable and the road and wind noise was worlds apart from my 99 9-3 SE that I have taken on the same trip many times. Car acceleration was very impressive especially when merging into traffic from the off ramps. 40 MPH to 80 MPH is effortless.
Sunday ride back had to drive a little slower as it was nighttime and patches of heavy fog. Kept it between 65-75 MPH and averaged 29 MPG!! (Assume this will get even better when the car is broken in)
By the way, I always use Mobil 93 octane gas but about halfway back stopped for gas and filled up with Shell 93. Today I notice a slight rotten egg sulfur smell once in a while. I’m going to stick with Mobil but was wondering if anyone else has had this experience with Shell gas?
Regards,
PaulD
