I have a 2007 9-5 with the same feature.
You need to get a cable which Apple calls Monster iCable for car. Apple sells this as an accessory. See...

One plugs into the headset receptacle on the iPod, the other into the receptacle on the audio unit in the car.
Then, press the CD-Aux button on the Saab audio system and start playing from a playlist on your iPod.....and enjoy.
