Self-Clearing CEL?

Code #P0134 (no activity, sensor 1, bank 1). This code had been intermittent a couple of years ago and then went away. Thinking a weak O2 sensor, I put a spare one in my "rescue box". Well, I did the 60,000 mile service (filters, fluids including brake and transmission), front brakes and rotors, new plugs, and R&R the vacuum pump to (possibly) treat a slight oil leakage (long story).
Now the CEL is solid. Autozone pulled code 0134, so I installed the new O2 sensor. It's against company policy to reset codes, so I checked the WIS. It says the CEL goes out after 3 "driving cycles" with no fault, and the diagnostic code clears after 40. A "driving cycle" is defined as an "engine start", right? Or, is it a "cold start then warmup?" I made half a dozen stops and the CEL is still solid.
