So SAAB replace my fuel pump assembly under the CPO warranty :-). I filled the gas tank today and the trip computer, which has always been amazingly accurate was way off. The SID said 21.6 MPG and the actual mileage was 18.81. Dang. So today we went for a drive to the Oregon State Fair, just at 100 miles round-trip and at 91 miles traveled, the gas gauge was just starting to come off "full". So I guess that's why my car took 15.6 gallons to fill, even thought the gauge was still showing over 1/8 of a tank. The invoice for the fuel pump replacement says "calibrate fuel gauge by bending arm". Does anyone know if there is a procedure documented to calibrate the float level/gauge? I wish they would have replaced the pump only and kept the rest original. Fix one thing and break another. Warranty is up so it's my turn to do the repairs.
