why the throttle body goes bad

So, I keep seeing 'bad throttle body' 'replace throttle body' 'P1230'

and the answer was always REPLACE THROTTLE BODY

well, at $400 for a new one and $200 for a used one, that's a lot of money.
we decided to open one up and take a look inside. What we found, was the problem :)

The wires were practically bare when we opened up the TB electronic casing and took the big magnetron off. Lots of sheathing just floating around inside

Here it is after we cleaned the them off of all the broken dry rotted sheathing

and here it is with light coats of Wurth brush on electrical tape

I let it dry overnight, I'm going to the shop in a bit to put it back together and apply another coat if needed
